Institution created for the purpose of promoting economic and social development in Arab countries by providing finance for development projects, investment, supply of technical assistance. Created in 1968, the fund came into effect in 1973 and its headquarters are in Kuwait. The principal beneficiaries are non-petroleum producing countries that belong to the Arab league.
